About Me

I founded SJA Holistics to help people get well, feel great, and stay well using the power of practices derived from Eastern Medicine including Shiatsu, Reiki, Acupressure and Qi Gong.

For over a decade I’ve worked with Ki and have first-hand experience of how energy- and body-work can lead to positive health. Working with the energy body as well as the physical can bring profound changes to mental, emotional and physical issues.

After completing three years of study for the Professional Shiatsu Diploma, I honed my experience working voluntarily for six months in a national UK charity giving Shiatsu to people recovering from substance misuse.

It is my mission to help you recognise your own self-healing ability and to empower you with the skills and knowledge you need to dramatically improve your self-care.

It's not possible for Reiki to cause harm.

The only way it could be less effective is if the Practitioner isnt properly trained, and/or committed to working with the Reiki frequencies.

There is another Shiatsu Practitioner in south Goa!

It was a pleasure swapping with @shanyelad who is also trained in both Shiatsu and Tuina. As much as I love giving treatments to others, it's important for me to receive too (and anyway who wouldn't want to receive Shiatsu!) ✌️

Our techniques are a little different because Elad (from Israel) has a background in Tuina (see below).

 I enjoyed Elad's firm pressure and rotations that worked into my stuff hips, encouraging some gentle opening in this complex area. The pressure on my lower back brought relief, this area both enjoying the attention brought to it, and also a sense of aliveness restored, as stagnant energy (pain) shifted.

If i look a little dazed - Shiatsu often leaves me feeling "changed", a sensation that can last for at least the rest of the day. This is how I know the treatment has been effective - the energy movement stimulated by the session leaves me feeling different. Sometimes more emotional. Needing to be alone. Other times more at peace - a sense of mind and body working together more closely. Aligned.

ABOUT TUINA

Tuina uses massage techniques such as acupressure, myofascial release, and reflexology.

Pronounced twee-nah, Tuina massage originated in ancient China and is believed to be the oldest system of bodywork. Shiatsu evolved from Tuina, hence there are close similarities in their technique and philosophy.

Neuropsychology is also an emerging field of interest for people looking to take better care of their health.

Shiatsu practices both worked on yourself (self Shiatsu) and received from a trained professional can help to calm the autonomic nervous system, moving you out of fight/flight.
